AAA has worked with environmental
consultants and engineers to develop a dust collection system that more than meets the "MACT" standard for environmental
air quality. Both of the company's rotary furnaces have a specially designed hood that captures all of the smoke created
while melting aluminum scrap. This smoke is channeled into a large duct system which sends the smoke and contaminants into
a baghouse filtering system which injects lime and cleans the air before releasing it into the atmosphere.
Also important is the bi-product or waste created during secondary aluminum production. This product, often referred to as "salt cake", contains elements of contamination that renders it unsuitable for the ground. Once this product cools under a specially designed hood, it is loaded into containers and taken to a certified landfill accompanied by a manifest that guarantees the proper disposal of this product. All customers can rest assured that AAA is environmentally conscience and has put in place everything necessary to comply with all federal, state and local environmental laws. |
